Valentijn Bakkum
After completing his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Valentijn wished to gain some practical experiences in his field of study. He felt like a dream team would be the perfect chance to accomplish this, and chose Project MARCH due to the direct impact it has on the life of someone with paraplegia. For his Master’s degree, Valentijn has already decided that he would like to study Embedded Systems. Thus, he joined Project MARCH as an Embedded Systems Engineer.
Valentijn is mainly responsible for both designing and assembling the MDrive (MARCH Drive), which is essential for controlling the motors of the exoskeleton. He writes the firmware as well as builds the PCB. These jobs truly peak his interests, and Valentijn enjoys diving into the details of it, ensuring that he delivers the best possible product.
Valentijn thinks it to be immensely valuable to work together with people from different backgrounds, and looks forward to assembling a functional product with this team. In the future, he would like to keep working on medical devices as an Embedded Systems Engineer.
