Marieke van Schaik
Marieke first heard of Project MARCH a couple years ago, while visiting the open days of the TU Delft as a highschooler. Although she was immediately intrigued by the concept of integrating medicine and technology in order to build an exoskeleton for someone who can’t walk anymore, Project MARCH went to the back of her mind when she started studying Medicine in Utrecht.
After completing her Bachelor’s degree last summer, Marieke chose to take a gap year to decide on the next step in her career. As she still has a particular interest in the intersection of medicine and technology, joining Project MARCH perfectly aligned with her ambitions.
Another focus of Marieke’s gap year is to get more in touch with her creative side, which is naturally required for her function. As Marketing Coordinator, she takes pictures of the team, manages our socials and designs promotion material. Besides, she helps organize Project MARCH's events. Essentially, she is responsible for telling the story of Project MARCH to the world.
Marieke is excited to work together with a group of highly motivated students, an environment in which she thrives. Furthermore, she aims to learn as much as possible about the exoskeleton and the benefits it has for the pilot.
