Maica Brakkee
Maica believes that a strong team starts with getting to know each other well and trusting your fellow team members. As our Team Manager, she is responsible for the team’s wellbeing and its overall performance. She supports team members in achieving their full potential.
As a real people person, Maica fits this position perfectly. She is empathic, optimistic, always in for a chat and a hard worker. Additionally, she serves as the face of Project MARCH and genuinely enjoys presenting our project to the outside world.
With her background in Technical Medicine, Maica’s attention was quickly drawn to Project MARCH. Although building an entire exoskeleton in one year, with a team consisting solely of students, might seem borderline impossible, Project MARCH has shown for years that it can be done.
Maica’s personal goal for her year as Team Manager of Project MARCH is to support the team members in their personal growth and to provide a listening ear for any issues they might face. She looks forward to building something everyone can be proud of, together.
After this academic year, Maica will finish her master’s degree in Technical Medicine. In the future, she would like to put her knowledge and skills regarding medical technology to use in developing countries.
